September Altar

I came across this small altar idea while searching on Mabon, but you could use it for any holiday. If you don’t have room for an entire altar, make a mini altar in a jar or box. If you’re in the broom closet, it’s easy to tuck away a mini altar, plus, they’re portable.

I must confess I make a hobby of collecting craft supplies, but I avoid collecting Wicca supplies. That said, I found a great post about “13 Must Have Altar Items for Wicca.” It offers some great ideas, so I may have to collect a few things (no affiliate marketing for this link).

I’ve had a household altar for many years. I found some other good ideas for household altars – “How to Create a Household Altar,” and “Witchy Home Altar Ideas.” My favorite take-away from the first article was to include an item honoring a particular deity. I’m going to try that one. The second article includes some ideas that would be quick to implement for specific types of altars, for example, the elemental trio and the protection altar. I have room where my main altar is to add a focus area, so I’ll try these ideas, too. In September, we celebrate Mabon. I like this mini Mabon altar idea (see image). The image (on Pinterest) doesn’t seem to link to a source, so I can’t give credit for the idea.
