I enjoy cooking. I don’t find it particularly meditative or spiritually enlightening, but I do enjoy sharing the fruits of work. Kitchen Witch is a new section in my blog so I can share seasonal recipes that lend themselves well to pagan celebrations and rituals.
Anything that celebrates the harvest is perfect for Mabon, especially if the recipe uses your local ingredients. For me, it’s Fall until I’ve made my first apple pie of the season. I have yet to find the perfect apple pie recipe, so I’m not including a link (yet). I cannot, however, get through apple season with an apple peeler, corer, slicer. I have one like this. Thank me later, but it will make all the difference in your snacking and baking. One of the most popular dishes I bring to potlucks is apple nachos or healthier apple nachos. If you have the peeler, corer, slicer, it’s a snap to make. I haven’t made the healthier apple nachos, but I like the idea of including peanut butter as a topping. Since I love Heath bars, I always include some Heath bar toffee bits. If you make the apple nachos, include whichever toppings you like best.
